Stressful Saturday

I was really hoping to have a nice laid back and stress free weekend. As it turns out, it wasn't to be. Yesterday I drove down south to my parents house to help out with some yard work and to visit some family. My dad works for BP so I decided that I would help he and my mom out by having the yard mowed so my dad would have less thing to do when he got home. I have been doing this all summer without any problems so I was expecting the same out of this weekend. I got to their house yesterday before my mom got out of school, she is a teacher, so as I have done a thousand times I got the tractor ready and started to cut grass. Everything went smoothly except I noticed that the tractor was running a little sluggish. I decided to go ahead and call it a day and start to get ready to go have dinner with my girlfriend and my mom. Dinner went well and afterwards we stopped by to visit my sister and my nieces. My darling 2 year old niece also treated me with her rendition of Baby by Justin Bieber. When I got home I went right to bed because I knew I had a full day of work ahead of me today. I got up and after I had eaten breakfast I hopped back on the tractor and off I went. The tractor felt more sluggish than yesterday so I decided to stop and check things out. To my surprise transmission fluid was leaking out all over the place! One of the seals around the transmission had busted and there was pretty much nothing I could do to stop it. I ran in the house to call my dad and see what to do. He told me there was pretty much nothing I could do and he would take care of it when he got home. I decided to finish up some weed-eating and spray for bugs around the house. My mom and girlfriend had left to go to my cousin's bridal shower so I was at the house alone. I went in to get something to drink and to watch Sportscenter for a minute before heading back outside. I headed back out and finished the weed-eating and sprayed for bugs. It was starting to get pretty hot outside so I finished up a few things outside and started to head inside. I went to open our front door and it was locked. All the other doors and windows around the house were locked too. I guess I accidentally or out of habit, locked the door on the way out.  I had no key, no phone and nothing to drink outside with me and pretty much everyone in my neighborhood was at my cousin's shower. There was nothing I could do but sit and wait for my mom to get home. So the majority of my supposedly "stress free" Saturday was spent sitting on a bench in our garage. Oh what fun!

  1. Oh, that's terrible! The closest I've come to that is locking the keys in my car!
